Basic Safety Advice
NEVER give out any personal information to people you do not know. This includes your address, telephone number etc. Remember, people online may not be who they say they are. Anyone with access to the Internet can use our site, regardless of any subject matter. We always advise against meeting anyone you meet online in person.
Safety Features
Our site offers you the facility to set the privacy of your profile and communications. You can choose to set the privacy settings for comments, view comments, view friends, compose message, your complete profile and your basic info to whom you choose it to be viewable. Simply click on the 'Profile' link and choose 'Privacy Settings' once you have logged in. You can also block specific users.
Please be aware that our moderators are not able to monitor private messages and conversations. Some users may use this to be offensive or otherwise just breaking the site rules. Therefore we do recommend using blocking to help defend your self against abuse and offensive behavior.
Our site makes use of a language filtering mechanism which prevents most obscene language. Some users however, will get around this by slightly misspelling some obscene words. This is very hard for us to combat.
If you are being abused, feel free to use the links for reporting users or send us a message by selecting the contact us link. Posts made on our message boards are moderated at random. If you see any abusive posts, please contact us so we may investigate.
Moderation
We cannot guarantee that a Pagebraker moderator will always be present in our forums or chat and as such we do not consider Pagebraker to be a moderated site.
Our team cover the forums and chat as often as possible to reduce abuse, threatening behavior and explicit or other unwelcome conversation. The fact that a moderator is on duty does not mean the forum is guaranteed to be free from abuse.
Our moderators are volunteers who undergo a lengthy training and supervision period after proving themselves as responsible users of our site. All moderators work as a team, and only the very best applicants are accepted. We regularly monitor our moderators to ensure that they are the right people for the role.
Moderator Feedback - Any feedback you may have about our moderators can be sent to us through our contact desk.
Profiles
Before you can log into our system, you need to register and provide your full name and choose a user name you wish to appear by. On registration you automatically get a profile page. You should always be cautious about what information you enter here as it can be viewed by everyone depending on your privacy settings.
We always recommend that you NEVER give out personal information to people you meet online. The same goes for your profile.
